DIY ROBOT BUILDS
First design preview / Photography & build guides in progress

Built prototype / 4-DOF QUADRUPED

Meet
iOlly 4DOF.

Another quadruped. Its own character.

An orange-and-black quadruped with articulated legs and a rounded head. Follow this separate iOlly build through its progress videos and original component drawings.

FROM ERIK’S WORKBENCH

A prototype,
in progress.

Two original videos follow this separate 4-DOF build. Watch them here or open them on Erik’s YouTube channel.

A SEPARATE BUILD

Four legs.
A different design.

01 / THE BODY

A central structure.

The body base, body cover and battery cover have their own CAD views. The base shows the mounting features around the four sides of the chassis.

02 / THE LEGS

Articulated from hip to foot.

The leg drawings are named coxa, femur, tibia and tars. Together they show the individual components behind the prototype’s jointed legs.

03 / THE HEAD

A familiar silhouette.

A neck, head base, rounded head cover and circular front piece form a separate set of component drawings.

This is its own robot project. The blue 2-DOF iOlly has separate parts and controller notes. A component named “camera” does not by itself establish camera or vision functionality.

THE ORIGINAL 4-DOF DRAWINGS

Explore the
mechanical details.

11 component views

The original CAD illustrations belong to this 4-DOF project. Open any image for a closer look at the body, leg and head components.

DOCUMENTING THIS BUILD

From prototype
to build guide.

The progress videos document the physical prototype, while the eleven CAD views show its mechanical components. These are the starting point for this project’s own guide.

  1. Match the printable parts.Confirm the STL revisions and quantities that belong to the robot in these videos.
  2. Record the hardware.Document the servos, controller, battery, power supply and fasteners used in this build.
  3. Show the assembly.Photograph joint orientation, servo alignment, cable routing and the finished wiring.
  4. Document the controls.Identify this robot’s firmware and calibration procedure, then check its movements on the actual hardware.

ALSO FROM THE WORKBENCH

Meet the
2-DOF iOlly.

The blue-and-black quadruped is a separate project, with its own prototype demo, component views and build notes.

PLANS & FILES

A dedicated package, when it’s ready.

A complete assembly guide and checked download package are still to come. File contents, availability and any price will be listed here for iOlly 4DOF when ready.
